Begun in 2017, Intersections expands on a theme of human vs. nature, with the unpredictable likend to the motions made by the hand in writing, as well as the process of each emerging painting. Spontaneous and caligraphic lines paired with a diagramatic code board pose the starting point for each piece. The indirect method of painting in resist also adds to the somewhat calculated surprise when finished.

Painted in gouache/acrylic on 300 lb. watercolor paper, they are mostly single paintings, 22" x 30". The Human + Nature painting is a diptych, allowing the ideas and constraints to build and grow.
